More V6 Gas Mileage

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

What is an effective method of checking MPG? Currently I been watching my Miles per tank, but thats obviously not effective. If I'm not mistaken 94's have 24 gallon tanks? Anyone have a good way to do this?

Fill you tank with Gas, write down the mileage or set your trip odometer.

Drive till you need gas, fill the tank, write down how many gallons you just put in.

Get your mileage from the trip odometer, or the current mileage and subtract the mileage from when you got your last tank of gas.

Then divide miles driven by gallons purchased. 300miles/15 gallons = 20 mpg

Depending on your truck, auto or 5 spd, and rear end, you mileage will vary.

My 97 with the light duty 5 spd and 3.42 rear was good for just over 20 mpg,

My 2001 with an automatic and 3.42 read struggles to get 18 mpg.
