Delete EPS con Silverado 2015 1500

Hello guys, as the tittle says, im wondering if the Electronic Power Steering can be deleted from the truck? it just died and mechanic said i need a new one, but it cost 1/4 of the truck price in my country, also i dont have enough moneys for that, so im wondering if it can be possible to delete it and just use it witouth it, the wheel is hard to turn right now i think because im also turning the dead EPS.

The short answer is no.

 

They all came with electronic power steering and there was never an option for hydraulic power steering. There are a ton of things that work with the EPS system on a factory truck. If you removed all that stuff you'd have nothing but error codes and other problems to deal with.

 

You may need to try and source a part on your own to your country to save some money. A truck like yours here in good condition is like $20-25,000 USD, so I hope it wouldn't cost $5,000 to get a new steering rack there.

that truck has been neglected like an old beaet, has some rust on the frame, cooling fluid went to the transmission and now it slips a bit lol, changed the radiator and water pump, the "EPS reduced drive with care" came before the eps died,  i mean the truck cost me 10k usd and i just use it to haul things in the farm, the EPS price here is around 3k, im just trying to find a cheaper way to fix it so i can use it again, but as you said i think im going to look at Ebay to see if i can snatch one for the cheap
