Front & rear DVD player not working 15’ tahoe

When I insert a dvd the front screen switches to video mode but doesn’t do anything else after that. Rear screen doesn’t even come on. I have done some research and have found a common problem with the ribbon wire inside the rear screen which I have replaced but didn’t fix the issue. I’ve checked the fuses as well and they all appeared to be fine. Just bought this from a local dealership which of course the dvd function was the one thing I didn’t check before I bought it. Called the dealership and they asked if I purchased additional warranty, which I didn’t. But they basically said it’s out of our hands. anyone else have this issue with there DVD player?

Buy an extended warranty that covers the DVD and then get it repaired.
