Ask for John Ambrose Jr, owner, but tough to get a hold of him. Okay, as anyone else is also competent (wife, son, son, son, son). Tell him Ben Toy recommended.

 

Stage II is current best with about 38% increased stopping power over OEM. This should be ceramic content along with whatever they had in old formula (Kevlar).

 

Cyro/slotted rotors & cyro drums optional, IMO, but nice to have. Not cheap.

 

They also carry stainless steel hoses, get all three.

 

New calipers and cylinders recommended, along with proper high temp grease loaded into the caliper slide tube cavity. If no new calipers, must get new O-Rings (4 per caliper) and reload with high temp grease (buy cheap syringe, load up with high temp grease and then fill cavity while pressing in new slide tubes).

 

Flush both front and rear systems. DO NOT push any old fluid back into the system during bleed, but make sure to have the caliper/cylinder bleed screw opened so fluid will come out there instead of being pushed back into the system. Potential to ruin the ABS system. It's valves don't do well when old fluid with gunk/junk/etc mixed in gets there.

 

DOT4 or ATE. DO NOT use DOT5 or silicone fluid.

 

Proper bedding in a MUST !!! Read Speeders post on the Pacific Audio forum. He rebed and found that what he thought were warped rotors, went away.

 

Rear shoes must be manually adjusted at each oil/filter change. Must be adjusted "tight", but after fully bedding in (curing both green friction material and cast iron...and the smearing of friction materials onto the cast iron).

 

So search, as have posted these details both here and at Pacific Audio many times.

 

Side note, performance level, so don't expect them to last long, long time. Price to pay for this level of braking. Over all braking improvement, not just in ultra high end, like many other performance level. Have tired Performance Friction Z and they are almost as good as Praise, but they are peaky...meaning next to nothing when cold and great when very hot. Not so with Praise, they work great in all temp ranges.

hey thanks Ben. that was a great review! i have read threw all the posts on PA&A about the praise soo im about ready. i did not however know about adjusting the rears at every oil change. thats gunna be a pain! ohh well, thanks for the tips!!!

Traveler and I are working on a kit to solve the rear drum self adjuster not working.

 

Also potential improved movement of the shoes so they initiate a bit quicker and release a bit quicker too.
