Level Lift

Recommended Posts

Alright guys. I need some help. I want to level my 02 Suburban. What do I need to do? And what size tire can I fit after it is done.

The reason I am asking is because everyone I've talked to is telling me something different. To many different stories to type here.

PLEASE HELP!

You can crank the torsion bars and get some lift. If you can't get enough with the stock keys, they can be replaced with a set of ford keys for about $50 and then you can get some more lift. All depends on how level you want to go and whether or not you mind a rougher ride. Whatever you do, if you mess with the torsion bars, be sure to get an alignment afterwards.

Thanks. I did find a set of Ford keys, they also come with a spacer for the coil springs. And I've found them sold without the spacer. Do I need the spacer? My main concern are the tires. Am I going to have to shim the tires so they aren't tweeked, or will they be alright?

How is installation? Everyone says there isn't much to it. Thanks again.

I found installation instructions....easy enough. I still question what the spacer is for and if I need it. The one I was looking at was at suspensionmaxx.com

The coil spring spacer has to be for the rear coils. They are the only coil springs on the Tahoe/Yukon. Whether you need them or not depends on the look you want and how much you lift the front. I would personally lift the front and then decide if I wanted to or needed to lift the rear. Most people want their truck to sit level. Some want the rear a little higher and some want the "pre runner" look with the front end higher.

As far as "shimming the tires", I don't know what you are talking about. Do you mean having the front end aligned after the lift? If that is what you are asking, the answer is yes.
