Shocks for Z71

Just got back from a 400 mile trip and am no convinced that my truck needs new shocks. Called the dealer to get oem replacments. $280 per shock for the rear and $160 for the fronts. Needless to say i am looking elsewhere. What brands has anyone else used to keep the nice ride in a 1998 Z71. Don't do much off road and just a little towing so don't need anything heavy duty so to speak. Just looking for a nice ride. Thanks

maybe chack on getting the z71 bilstein shocks from another source

i have the bilsteins off my 98 z71, they were on for like 1k miles then i replaced them when it was lifted. they never saw a day off road or did anything get towed when they were on. no reasonable offer will be refused!

I just added the KYB MonoMax shocks to my (stock) 98 1/2 ton silverado truck this weekend. Ride is much improved. Just remember to tighten those to the 180 ft lbs.

Heard a lot of good things about these shocks. Impressed so far. Drove about 200 miles on them this weekend.

I put Rancho RSX17000's all the way around my truck last year. I have no complaints so far.

Edelbrock IAS. I had on my 99 Sierra and loved them. Put them on my wife's Land Cruiser and she loved them. And now I have them on my 03 Tahoe and still love them.
