So I have a 2004 Sierra and I am going to need a new steering column as well as a replacement ignition cylinder (two different issues). Going with used parts, will I need to bypass an immobilizer? Swap the immobilizer from the donor truck? I tried to research this but couldn't find anything definitive.

Only reason I am extra cautious about this, is because I had a WJ Jeep that I needed to replace the ignition cylinder and had to get a PCM that bypassed the immobilizer system completely so I wouldn't have any issues. Thanks in advance!
