MagnaFlow Mufflers?

Looking for some exhaust recommendations. I have a reg cab, short bed 2wd silverado with the 5.3. I want an exhaust system that is not real load but certainly noticable. I was thinking of the 70 series from Flowmaster. I have the 40 series on another vehicle and love the sound. I was speaking with a local muffler shop and they suggested the Magnaflow mufflers. They said they have good,deep sound but not real load and there is very little resonance when cruising down the highway. They thought I would like the Magnaflow vs the Flowmaster for what I was after. Can anyone with the mufflers verify this. Again my main goal is better performance and tone but nothing real load as it is a daily driver.

I have Magnaflow's, albeit I'm blowing 496 cubes worth of air movement through them so mine are naturally going to be loud.

 

All Magnaflow is, is a DynoMax Ultra-Flo POLISHED stainless steel muffler.  Both are owned my Walker.

 

As to loudness, cruising on the highway isn't bad at all, it's actually very quiet (to me at least).  However, the slightest tip into the gas results in TONS of resonance.  Same can be said under hustled or full throttle acceleration.

 

I personally love it, and if I had to do it again, I'd still get the Magnaflow's.  I had to go with them over the same DynoMax cause DynoMax didn't make them 28" long that would fit directly in length to the stock "muffler of death".  Personally I'm not a fan of Flowmaster (or Borla) sound.

 

Once again, keep in mind though, I've got a Big Block now with a true dual setup now that the stock muffler and tailpipe have been replaced.  So mine is just flat out deep, resonating and loud.

I have the Magnaflow 12590 on my 8.1L and love it - nice sound when your step on it, great on the highway - I run dual in single out.
