Noise After Installing S&B CAI

Just installed an S&B CAI, and the truck response was what I expected. But right after the engine is turned off, there is a short pop or gasping noise. Its coming from the CAI area, and I can’t find another thread that mentions this type of noise. Is this normal, or anyone else having this issue?

The noise you describe sounds just like the one my makes approximately 45 seconds or so after shutting the engine off, however, this noise is normal (it's been discussed in a few other threads on this forum) and is unrelated to the installation of a CAI.  My truck made this noise before I installed the GM performance air intake, and still makes that same noise afterwards.  If the noise you describe is other than the one I'm referring to, then I have no idea what it might be.  How long did you have your truck before you installed the CAI?

I think it is the automatic shutter c!osing.

I had the truck for about a year before installing the CAI and never heard this noise before. After posting this I saw a thread where it was explained as remaining air exhausting out the engine manifold when shutdown. The stock air box dampens this noise where as after market CAI’s don’t. I had a K&N intake on another truck and it didn’t make that noise so it caught me off guard.
