I have an 04 TrailBlazer and I'm looking @ two air filter kits. One is the FIPK2 kit from K&Nand the other is the Volant air kit. I've used K&N before and I know that make quaility products, but what about Volant? Which kit would be better? Which sounds better? Of course I'm going for HP and possibly gas mileage. Thanks for your input.

This comment may draw many flames :jester::lol::D , but I don't know that either are worth the money ... especially on an otherwise stock engine. I got the K&N panel filter and I feel like, with the stock MAF and nothing else done to the truck other than a Flowmaster exhaust, it will flow plenty of air. Besides, if I need a little more air, I can enlarge the holes on the stock airbox where it pulls from the front fender. On top of that, with the stock airbox, there's pretty much no chance of drawing hot, engine-compartment air. Just my $.02

So If your going to make this comparison I think you need to throw in a UPD (NSV) intake into the mix.....

If you free up the back end by adding a less restrictive exhaust then I think getting a little more air on the front end is going to do you some good. However if you still have the "RESTRICTIVE" or factory exhast your not going to gain much by adding a intake...

Just my .02
