Says check trailer but no trailer

I was towing a camper over the weekend and ended up pinching the wire and cutting several wires, just the turns and brake lights…brakes and running lights were ok. I reconnected the severed wires, but now few things:

 

turn signals flash fast like a bulb is burnt out, but they are fine…right and left.  When using 4 ways they flash normal.

 

the other is the car is asking to check the trailer lights. 
 

not sure what to do. I am sure I caused a short somehow, but was hoping someone has some advice. Thanks!!!
