Outside temp. sensor

Hey guys,

My truck was getting the 2 front windows tinted and it was in a garage for about 3 hours. Anyway, I go pick it up and get in it and drive off and notice the temp on my mirror was showing 33 degrees and it slowly heated up to 38 before I got back to work.(About a 15 minute trip). So, I check the real temp. and its 51 degree's. What gives? Are these things slow or that inaccurate? Also, does it have anything to do with the sensor on top of the dash for auto lights? I dont have autoclimate if that makes a difference. :loser:

Sounds like something could be wrong. Mine works fine. The actual sensor is in front of the radiator. I wonder if it could be bent and touching the radiator? Don't know if it's possible, never looked.

I had mine replaced on my '02 EC Z-71 the day I bought it. Sometimes you just get a bad one. They can get out of calibration according to my service guy but that was in May of '02.
