I have a 2016 Sierra 1500 and I'm getting a "Service 4WD" message on the dash. The transfer case is stuck in 4wd. I've seen other threads that talk about checking grounds for corrosion or severed wires and I've done that. Everything is in cleaned up and connected. I took the truck to autozone to run the code to see if it was a C0306 for the transfer case motor and no code for the 4wd system came up.

The only code I got was a C0110-61 for the ABS Pump Motor Circuit. Message on this forum seem to suggest checking for corrosion first with this as well so I'll start there.

Anyone else had the "Service 4WD" message come up with no associated code?

It’s happened to me a couple of times.  I put in Park, shift to 4x4 low.  Let it cycle to that, then select 2 wheel drive.  That fixes my 2016 1500 Sierra.

Tried that, doesn't even attempt to shift. I'm not sure if the message disables it trying to shift or if it can't. There's no message about trying to shift to 4low or anything.

I also changed the brakes. I found one of the pins on the front caliper was frozen. I wonder if that caused the abs light. New bracket and pins on order. I'll test again after that's installed
