rear veiw mirror

i have an 04 silverado and i want to put the rear veiw mirror with temp and compass in but all the ones i find dont have the passanger air bag light on it . can i put one of thous on or will it disable the airbags

Good question. I can tell you that only 2003-04 models have the mirror with the airbag light in them. If you could find one from one of those models you wouldn't have to worry about it. Keep an eye on E-bay I see them on there occasionally. The good new is that they generally go cheaper than the ones wihtout the light, because poeple don't want the airbag ones for custom apps.

I don't think that airbag light would work on a vehicle that doesn't have it as part of the design. And to be honest, since mine has one, it is just not a feature that just overly thrills me. I mean, as much illumination as it puts out, something else could have gone there, if anything.
