Writing this for anyone wanting to try it, I went and got a L86 from a junkyard type place. The motor came out of a 2017 Escalade with supposedly less than 50k miles. Tore it down everything looked good, the red coating on the main bearing had literally minimal wear on it. Had block cleaned and cylinders honed, one cylinder had some water in it and got a little rusty but was solid after the hone. Put a Stage 2 BTR truck cam in with new bearings, got new springs, valve seals, rockers, lifters and trays and gaskets/seals. Took me and a homie 4 days to do the swap. Hardest part was separating the bell housing. Did change the injectors and HPFP to that of the L86 motor. Got a base tune from a local shop and soon after got it dyno'd so they could adjust TCM. I did have to send my TCM to HPTuners to be unlocked and that took about a week (sent it out on a Friday). Super easy everything else was bolt on/plug in. Also did get a new flex plate and plugs/wires. Truck runs beautiful and enjoy it a lot. Dyno was like 410whp/440torque with 22x12 wheels on 33x12.5 tires.
