I have a Silverado HC 5.3L that after 2 month started to drain battery. Now it happend three times during a month and It seems it drain the battery overnight. Sometimes just after i have been in truck the day before not driving just getting things out of the bed. It is complete dead no fob or interior comes on. I have taking it to dealer and they are waiting for GM on what is causing the problem. Anyone with same problem ?

Yes nothing that takes power when you test and no aftermarket items. I just shut the automatic update and installation of new program until i hear anything from workshop.

I have begun experiencing the identical issue (Chevy Z71 Crew 5.3 LT).  I decided to monitor the vehicle to see if perhaps the fuel pump or automatic E brake was cycling.  I was able to observe and record the interior dash back lighting (dull grey screen) light up, as well as the dual temp control knobs. This was occurring every 45-55 seconds.  The steering wheel control backlight would also remain lit for an interval afterwords. I called local dealer and have an appointment.  This vehicle is driven daily a minimum of 40 miles.

I will update ASAP.

Respectfully,

**Update**

Despite the VIN indicating my vehicle (2023 Z71 Crew 5.3 LT) was not part of the electronic tailgate release recall, a diagnostic check indicated a slow drain on the system when parked and not in use. A short circuit failure was found in the tailgate release mechanism and was replaced.  A new battery was also installed due to the numerous drain down episodes.

Hope this was helpful and Happy Motoring!

Update on my 2023 Silverado 1500 5.3L HC made in Canada.

Sorry for not update my problem, but i took it to my service man and he found out that the truck was searching for a hybridmodule i think it is called K16 and trying to connect to that, so the truck was looking for K16 day and night.

But my truck is not a hybrid so after a while they finally changed my cluster and reprogram the truck.

Now everything runs perfect and no issues at all.

Hey, I’ve experienced similar issues you guys had, i have a 23 1500 ltz and i woke up to the battery dead multiple times and while working in the yard my tailgate would go up and down randomly, and i pulled into my garage and it came down, but luckily the plastic only got scuffed not the paint and thank god i didn’t have my trailer. I took it to my dealer and they found out it was the switch for the tailgate was getting water and shorted, and they are going to replace the battery, parts come in tomorrow, i will update when i get the truck back.
