I have a 2019 Silverado 6.2 that just got a new GM motor after a lifter failed and shredded the cam.
The motor looks new from what little I can see, but I would like to further verify if possible.
How can I physically verify that the auto shop installed a brand new GM 6.2L motor?
The invoice has minimal information and only list the part number.

Look on the back of the engine.  There should be this date of manufacturing tag on the rear of the engine on the  right or left cylinder head. You will probably have to get on the ground to get a good picture like I did. First 2 numbers under the L87 is 24. The year it was  produced, and I believe the next 3 or 4 numbers are the number of days in that year20240501_1641571.thumb.jpg.97d7410a1e748f363e8484b59c60266d.jpg
