Keep an eye on your bolts

Just took a trip down to FLA, notice some liquid on my wheels, turns out the 8 bolts that hold the axle to the hub, well 5 had worked their way loose. Thereofre i had oil seeping out and it splashed all over the wheels, I ended up being a half quart low on gear oil.

 

So keep an eye on you rear axle bolts, make sure they don't loosen on you. I've had this happen before on some old dump trucks. My UPS truck seem to be OK since the mechanics paint everything and I believe the paint once dries, locks them in place.

That is pretty bazaar Frank, I'd definitely be takin a trip to the dealer, not only for the fix but to find out why it happened in the first place..

Kind of ironic two weeks ago I had to replace a rear hub seal....wonder if that was a culprit???

That sounds wacky as all get out. I know several people with HD's including myself. Never heard anything like that before. I'd definetly be back at the dealer asking GM to show me that they still love me.
