Perfomance Mods for Vortec 4200

Okay I have a 2004 Bravada and was looking at doing some performance mods to the engine. I was thinking, some sort of exhaust, I would like to go dual. Maybe an intake. What are the mods that give the 4200 some more power?

Might check with Borla on the Dual Exhaust. I have it on my '03 Envoy and am satisfied. Also, Volant makes a good cold air intake system. Both will increase interior noise to some degree.

I would also like to know of someone with the Whipple on the 4.2 engine

I know a guy here in Winnipeg, Canada who had put the whipple in his 2003 Trailblazer and the supercharger cause more hassels than gains in the end. He said that he would not recommend it, but he has heard nothing but good things from other people, so he's beginning to wonder if the supercharger was possibly defective from the get go.

I was looking into that Whipple supercharger as well.

You might want to check with him, and see if he had torque management disabled or lowered. If not, this would make a 4200 worthless with a supercharger, because it would disable a few pistons, retard the timing, and all sorts of stuff that don't cause good performance.
