Also, I use pricegrabber.com to get a big list of sellers and their feedback as well so you know if they are any good.

I bought my Canon S50 at Best Buy for $399. It was on sale a month ago. I think the cheapest I found it online was about $349 plus shipping. One thing to make sure you ask is if it's a "grey-market" camera. A lot of stuff comes from overseas and repairs/warranty are nonexistant. It's a great camera. Hope that helps. OOPS! I just noticed you said S500. Nevermind.
