Leveling a IFS Burb ???

I hate the stance of the late model Suburbans!

I have an 02 Z71 Burb and it like all of them sits front end down and the rear a little higher than the front.

it there a way to level this out and raise the front about an inch or so??

I know Ford has leveling kits for their F-250s.

Please help!

Crank up the torsion bars. Be sure to get the front end alinged when you get finished.

Hey Alex,

There is a way to do it and it involves a little more than just cranking up the torsion bars. Simplyg adjusting the bolts will cause the torsion bar keys (do a search on that) to bottom out before any signifigant height is gained. The torsion bar keys can be changed to a differently indexed hex which will intern give you a different range of adjustability.

I had them in my last k2500 pick up and it only slightly changed the ride performance and I beleive it was due to the lower control arm bumpers having a gap between the lower control arm and the bumper vs stock which is smashed up against the bumper....In other words when you hit a bump you could feel it hitting the bumper.

I just bought a k2500 suburban and need to find out if changing the front suspension height will adversly affect the front shocks but I know I can extend the arm for the height sensors or the conntecting rod to fool it....Just not sure its necessary.

The look and cost are worth the expense...I cant stand looking at my truck from the side on level ground at the moment!

The Hill leveling kit is the same thing as replacing your torsion bar keys with Ford keys. In fact it is thought that the Hill keys ARE ford keys with the ford part numbers ground off. Ford keys will run you about $50 shipped to your door.

Mine aren't bottomed out, and I gained more than an inch (all that is needed).

As for the "re-indexed" keys...They are the torsion bar keys off of a 1/2 ton Ford...Just like woyster_00z71 said. And picking them up at a Ford dealer will cost significantly less than a "leveling kit".
