Need help finding a squeak/rattle

2001 Chevrolet Z71 Ext. Cab

 

Basically if you're sitting in the drivers seat, and you look directly into the autotrac 4x4 buttons and that A/C vent, there's this annoying rattle/squeak noise coming from that direction. I've tried tracing it down, but I think it goes deeper than just a dash panel.

 

Anyone know of anything that might cause this or something that usually causes a noise like this?

 

It's not really just a rattle, just a squeaky rattle...it's annoying to say the least.

My first guess would be the bezel that surrounds the dash. It just pops off, so I would remove it and then drive and see if the noise goes away. If it does then a little silicon lube on the push-pins and around the edges should cure the problem.
