I had an appt. at the dealer this morning for an oil change. Well I drive to the service dept., hop out of the truck and look over at this truck parked about 40 feet away. Yes it was the ugliest looking thing I have ever seen. So I said to myself outloud, self if I was hung over I would blown chunks at the site of that thing. The sales people that heard me say that laughed there butts off. They proceeded to tell me that they are getting alot of complaints about the new looks.  I will say that the HD they had on the lot looked better then the 1500 but it was still ugly.I will bet that GMC scale sales skyrocket.

I too hate the new look but seeing a silver 2500HD every day going to work really makes me say ("i can get used to it")

I've seen a few 2003's and I'm neutral on it.  Not good enough to make want to rush out and buy one, but not ugly enough to keep from getting one if I was in the market.

ill bet my bottom dollar  that they'll still sell 3 times as much as the gmc's.

they deserve to as great as they look

I think alot of people are relating this style to the Less than attractive, overboard plastic cladded avalanche. I think that if this style would have been introduced on the silverado, the opinions would be a whole different story. I personally thought they were ugly the first time I saw them, but now am wishing I had waited to get the new style. BTW, the 3500 blows Fords Powerdump off the road with power and looks. I seen several GMC 03's but not many Chevy's yet. These will make killer show trucks, not to mention mean looking 4wd's

SDs are good looking trucks, especially compared to the 03 3500.  the 6.0 PSD will be some serious competition for the d-max

I disagree, I think people think they're ugly because that front end is just huge and boxy.  Way too tall and way too square.  If that's what the pickups looked like starting in '99, I'd be driving a 97+ F-150.

It looks like Chevy is trying to beat Dodge in the ugly contest.

ummm,  just remember how hard it was to get used to the new body style in '99.  I had problems with it, and I'm sure you all had some sort of "shock factor" too.  Especially after a body style that had run for a decade!!!

I think it will be OK...  Yep, it'll take some getting used too, but in the long run it'll be just fine...

Yep, in the long run it will be just fine.  Atleast for me because I will be driving a F350 when the time to upgrade trucks comes around.

Once again, for the 100th F*cking time, People don't like change, this is change!  Same thing took place in '87, 99, and of course now.  People, you can complain all you want, but people's spending speaks louder than your opinion and seeing as though GM is selling every Avalanche they can screw together, someone likes the look.

We've had them on the lots as Manufacturer's trucks and had more people wanting to buy them than the plethora of '01's & '02's right next to them!

As to some of you who purchase your truck solely on looks, I pity you.  I buy them for the engine and drivetrain, not how "pretty" the front end looks!
