Transmission Clunking

I have a 2000 GMC Yukon 5.3L, and when I slow down coming to a stop, at sub-10mph, my truck makes a clunk noise between 1st and 2nd gear. Any suggestions? I had my Transmission fluid changed today @ 79,000 miles. Still is occuring.

 

I've seen a lot of posts on this, but no real good answers.

every thing from slip yoke to, loose bolts , to leaf spring bushings, to torshion bars, to u joints, and now they just replaceed my transfercase, next they are going to look at the ring and pinion. needless to stay the dealer i bought this at hate me????? o yea i forgot to mention they redid my rear brakes also

Try the drive shaft. My 2001 Silverado had a 2 piece drive shaft and now Chevy no longer uses it. One of the two pieces had an inner shaft and it broke. The sound of the inner shaft banging only happened once in a while and sometimes when I was backing up. Hope this helps.

It would be my guess that the tranny is downshifting into 1 gear to "tightly" as you slow down and the clunk you here is normal driveline slop being taken up from the downshift to 1st and it put a slight decellerating load on drive shaft. You need to look are tranny issues here, not rear axle or xfer case as it is not smoothly grabing 1st gear.
