TrailBlazer problem...

Going down the highway doing about 60 and i hear a crunching noise and then the service engine soon light comes on......we call Onstar and they said its a fuel system/advanced powertrain fault. When the truck is started there is a very loud clicking noise coming from the engine.....any thoughts???

Is it still under warranty? If so, drive it till it blows so you get a new engine. I've seen alot of 02+ Trailblazers in the dealership getting new engines.

Hey guys need your help, Got a 2003 trailblazer I keep on getting the check engine light, Took it to the stealer 2 times said the code was

P0440 which is Evaporative emissions control system malfunction. Stealer keeps saying its the gas cap, They wont put a new one on so I did just to see what happened. Light came on again this morning and I have a code reader now and its the same code P0440 which is Evaporative emissions control system malfunction.. Any thoughts on what it could be? Anyone have this happen to them? Any help would be nice thanks in advance.

I think that you'll find that you need a new engine, if your engine was built before feb 9, 2002 it is under a special policy that protects it until 100k miles.

This policy was created because those first 100,000 motors are machined wrong, causing the cylinder sleeve to fail and destroying the engine.

Done 2 so far, both with less than 40k on them.

Yup you got it......the engine grenaded itself. I told me dad to tell the dealer to put the 5.3 in instead of the 4.2! the 6 only had 13,000 miles on it.

What year was your TB? I told my buddy at work about this thread and he said he isn't worried because he has an '03.
