Breather Element

Recommended Posts

So I have seen in a few of the filter changing guide books at Autozone, etc. that along with the air filter, cabin air filter, fuel filter, PCV valve, etc., that there is a breather element filter that needs to be changed. What is this? What does it do? Where is it located? Do our trucks have them? How often should it be changed?

Thanks!

Breather element filter is on older 70's-80's vehicles on air filter/snorkel housing. They are usually small about 1x2 inches and located inside the assy where the hoses for the crankcase ventilation enter.
