LLY, LB7 whats the difference

I was at chevrolet.com checking out the new Silverados HD and noticed that the new LLY Duramax only comes with the allison 5speed, you can't get it with the zf 6speed trans. Why is that? And what are the differences between the old LB7 and the new LLY? Is it just tuning or are there actual physical differneces?

Im not sure of the physical differences but I have heard of a variable vane turbo. The most important difference is that the LLY has 10 more hp and 70 more ft lbs of torque.

Also the fuel injectors are outside and accessible without having to tear apart the whole motor. It also has an EGR system that is supposed to meet future EPA requirements.

Where would you like it located? Mine is on the right side of the engine in plain view, and easy to replace. Takes all of 5 minutes, max.
