Elect Extendable Camping Mirror Instl

Just installed electric extendable camper mirrors on my 03 P/U.

Everything works including the signal marker, however, the mirrors do

not extend. Prior to installation, I had the standard electric/heating

mirrors (SLE trim).

 

Does the BCM has to be reflashed to program the extending function ? Or is

there anything else that can be done myself to make it work ?? Or is it just not possible at all ??? I unplugged the negative battery terminal hoping it may reset something, no success there. Just want to avoid going to the stealer for something probably simple !!!

 

I assumed that to make them extend, the left hand side of the toggle switch is pressed down, while the mirror selection switch is in neutral position.

well, i can tell you that i had the power extending camper mirrors on my truck and then i replaced them with the power folding type (did the opposite swap as you did) and everything worked fine. The mirrors folded and opened with no probs, and it didnt need the BCM reprogrammed. I did however have it programmed later on to add the curb assist and memory features into my DIC which are not there when you have the extending camper mirrors.

You need to have the BCM flashed.

You will have to have the passenger door module reprogrammed.

 

Dealer can do that for cheap $$$
