Many of you have probably seen this but if not you gotta check it out. It'll make you wonder if a supercharger is really worth the dough...

I hope this link works!

If that link doesn't work just go to wideawakeracing.com and click on the videos section...It's the top Vid.

Best bet is to just right click and save as

I don't get it. Low 11's is awesome, but what does it have to do with a supercharger not being worth it??

Because 11.03 was obtained with a stock motor and a bottle of NOx (150 shot according to the info on the wideawakeracing website).

that's right ....The truck is a LS1 stroker with a dual stage Nitrous system....A RADIX system installed is about $5200.00 and won't get you close to the 11's...I'd bet this guy has a lot less than that invested. That is my point.

Oh, now I get it. A cheaper way to go faster. What about streetability, would nos still be better than a supercharger?

Just another question. You mean that truck ran low 11's with nothing but a 150 nos system? Doesn't quite seem possible if I understand the nomenclature. Isn't that system adding 150 rwhp which isn't much more than the 120-130 rwhp obtained from a supercharger? Am I missing something? Sorry for being so dense!

It's not just a stock motor.. It is a 383 Stroker... Good thing about a Supercharger is it's there all the time, Unlike NOS which of course is only there when you hit the switch and the bottle needs to be refilled all the time...But again my point was that a Supercharger is a huge expense and will only get a 5400lb truck into the low 13's or high 12's. Maybe!

ooooooooohhhhhhhhhh WWWWOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!! That truck is FASSSSSSST!!!!! I can always dream......

oh, by the way.....that motor is ANYTHING but stock...... You guys might want to check out that website (www.wideawakeracing.com) They have some gearheads on there that really know what they're talking about when it comes to making cars eat tires.

Actually folks...its a 408 stroker motor(bored and stroked 6.0) with various other costly speed parts to help it breathe, and is backed up by a Turbo350 tranny feeding the AWD.

I would guess all the engine work was as costly as a radix.
