new engine in my 02 Trailblazer

Just had the 4.2L engine replaced (22K miles under warranty) runs great but I notice my RPM at 65 is now 1750 where it was always right around 2000 with old engine. What do you guys run at that speed and why should there be such a difference with the 2 engines??? Thanks

mine is right about the 1750 mark(2003 TB) at 65

They did not set up ECM correctly so speed data is wrong so RPM is wrong. Tell deal to recheck ECM programming. This is a easy fix really.

I can't believe that you had to have a motor replaced on a truck that new.

sounds like the torque converter wasn't locking up, probably cuz the old motor didn't have enough power to hold 65 locked.
