I finished it two years ago, and did it for a Senior project in High School.

It took me about 6 months time, and over 300 hours of work to complete.

Its my pride and joy, and i play it every day.

I recently got it appriased at about ?.

it playes VERY nice, and sounds better than any guitar you cound buy in the store.

PLUS i built it to the dimentions i wanted!!

here it is!

That's some pretty impressive wood work...  did you take a class on accustics in order to make the shape and dimensions correct???

thanks guys!

I had a mentor to help me, i used his shop/tools/etc..

We did test the guitar about 20 times throughout the building process to make sure the harmonics were correct. We tested individual pieces, as well as larger chunks.

Thats SWEET! I bet you learned alot in the process...both woodworking and accoustics...what did the materials cost?  I've always wanted to build one and have the tools to do so but dont even know where to start...mine would have to be lefthanded though!

Thats a sweet looking guitar Zane!  Wish I had the time to build one.  But I'm busy playing around with the other 2 and the truck, and a couple dozen other things.

Zane it really looks nice. You learned more in highschool than just readin, writtin and 'rithmatic. Would you do it again?

That looks really good.  That had to be great, getting to build it.  I've only refinished a solid body and I loved doing it (if you check my webpage it's the white strat named "Layla").  I can't imagine how cool it would be make an acoustic from scratch.

Mervz,

Very nice!  Hey, is that Zaino on the finish!  Probably not, that would be another 300 hours of work right?  (just kidding you Zainoholics).  I play too, have a 75 Les Paul Custom Delux (I'm the original owner) and a 12 string Guild from the early 70's.  Have picked many tunes on the 12 string, lots of Zeppelin, SRV, J. Taylor, John Prine and others.

Enjoy that beauty!
