Anyone know what the GCWR is for my 2000 Silverado? It's a 2500 X-cab 4x4 with 6.0 and 3.73 gears.

Thanks

This isn't the exact answer you are looking for, but here are a few numbers for your truck...

Max trailer weight = 8300 lbs

Max Payload = 3092

GVW = 8600

Thanks Guys...

I looked in my owners manual and I have an 8500# trailering capacity. I couldn't find the GCWR. It's great being able to have access to to this forum and receive this kind of information. :confused:

Here's img from on line brochure for 2002 (printed in 2001).

Your's is 2000, so these will be a "bit" higher, as they increase the ratings from model year to model year.

Gives you the "range".

Rule of thumb for GCWR is to take: "TV's "Curb" + "max trailer". It will vary by diff ratio, but above good rule of thumb to get you into the ball park.

Then to figure the TT's weight use this formula GCWR = TV GVWR + TT GVWR Where TV GVWR includes hitch weight and the tongue weight.

Here's the GCWR chart:
