Hi everyone, I'm new here. I just picked up my 99 Sierra Z71 Ex Cab yesterday. I had a 95 Chevy Ex Cab a couple years ago, but my job required travel, so I drove my 97 Grand Prix until it got to 188,000 miles, and I traded it in. I absolutely love my new pickup and I'm ready to start doing some stuff to it to make it look more "me".

My first question is, is there a leveling kit of some sort for the front end? I know a lot of the Z71's look level from front to back, but some, like mine, kind of sit lower in the front. What is the easiest way to do this and where do I get the kit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you can raise the front an inch or two by cranking the torsion bars.

I had heard that I can do that, but is there a downfall to doing that? I'm not worried about sacrificing on the ride, but does it cause excessive wear on the cv joints or anything. I've heard that it does. I'm not talking much, just enough to level it up.

I had the same problem with my 97 z71 and I cranked up the torsion bars a bit and you can easily level it out with out sacraficing the ride. I raised the front end up about an inch and the ride is fine. I tryed raising it about 2 inches and the ride went to crap, it toped out on every bump so i brought them back down to an inch or so, now everything seems to be fine... and make sure you mark the torsion bolts just for a default incase you want to go back.

I gave them 6 turns last night and it looks great. Ride wasn't changed at all and it now sits level. And yes, I did mark them just in case I screwed something up.

Hi. I am a newbie here too. I have a 2000 2wd extended cab. The front was way low, so I bought new lift coils. It is now even. Here is what I used and where I got them:

Doetsch coils are $109.00 plus 20.00 shipping.
