Steering Shaft (Merged with HD topic)

I have a 2002 HD Chev with just a little over 12000 miles on it and I am feeling more and more of a rattle through the steering wheel. I wondered if anyone else had such a problem and how they had it cured. Is there a recall for this problem?

Same thing happened to my truck. I have a 2003 2500HD. I took in for service and they lubed the steering shaft. Seems to be ok now. If it comes back, the service dept said they would install a new one for me. I really like my HD.

I would bet 25% of the GM truck owners have had to have the intermediate steering shaft lubed or replaced. (myself included)

 

GM has a TSB about it, and your service mgr at your dealership will know exactly what you are talking about.
