"Post Whore" Threads

Hi Guys,

We here at GM-TC think that "Post Whore" Threads (like the 2 that were closed earlier tonight) do absolutely nothing except bring the Quality of GM-TC posts down, and are a total Pain in the rear. Please Cease the POST WHORE Threads.

To the people who continuously start and partake in "Post Whore" threads, be advised, Warning levels will increase if this stuff keeps up....

I have a totally genuine question.....if someone post some pics of their truck, or tells a cool story, and I give em the thumbs up....are you gonna bust me for post whoring?

No, I am not....

The stuff we will "bust" on, is exchanges like the ones in the 2 threads that are locked with "Post whore" in the title....

For those who don't know what I'm talking about.... Here's a prime example for you... Here

Threads like these are totally meaningless, and have no place in our Forum!

I totally agree with General. There is no reason for these kind of posts. There are times when a response is nothing more than a smiley and it is ok, but to blanantly and purposefully have threads like these doing useless. If you feel the need to post something and have nothing to say, just go to the "musucs" thread and post what you are currently listening to, at least then it might introduce someone to something they've never heard and spark some interest. It has worked for me.

Agreed, what sets us apart here is the quality posts and the help and ideas that are exchanged. Let's not water that down with posts that only take up space. We've got a great group of guys here who share many common interests and get along without too many problems compared to other sites. Let's keep it cool.

So basic conversation in the General/Off topic forum is not allowed?

Or is it just the stuff posted by those of us that have been labeled?

Remember now not everyone here drives a GM truck, or American truck, even a truck at all, and do not have as much hard information about GM trucks to give to the site. So are they going to just be labeled as post whores? Sounds wrong but it seems that is what is happening.

But then Im sure by now there are a few people here just thinking that I am just trying to start s**t, just for who I am...... Isnt that a form of discrimination?

Actually I personally don't have a huge wealth of information to share on Gm-Trucks or any vehicle and I have not felt that way, nor do I feel that way now.

Common conversation is fine in the General/Off-Topic Forum, because that is what it is. Most of the members on this site can tell the difference between someone who is posting common topics or info and someone who is only posting to be a post whore and up their count. As for threads discussing this problem we are asking that the topic be dropped, because it only leads to more of the problem. And as for threads that include posts that say things like "*wonders when 4x4trucks or sum1 will close this thread*", you can expect to have them closed, and any thread opened afterwards to continue the same conversation.

As for the comment above that says, "But then Im sure by now there are a few people here just thinking that I am just trying to start s**t, just for who I am...... Isnt that a form of discrimination?" First no one is accusing anyone of trying to start anything, yet. Second jumping to the conclusion that we will seems to me to be discrimination too. And third by making the comment to begin with you are only encouraging people come to the conclusion that you are trying to start something.

For those who are seriously concerned about the issue of Post Whoring, please do not worry you will not be banned, locked out, or chastized for making short posts (even just smileys) if you have nothing to more to say on that topic. However, for anyone who is going to ry to use this to fuel a debate and controversy I believe I speak for all of the Mods and Admins in saying well will not tolerate it.

I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions and everyone can get along fine now. If you have any furthers concerns or comments about this please feel free tp PM me or any other Mod or Admin. Thank you.
