Component systems???

OK, this summer I'm planning on FINALLY getting my sound system in my Blazer. The pbolem is!!!!!! I want a fricken component system, but I can't find ANY so far for 6x9's or 4x6's, but could I just buy the tweets and stuff separately and THEN hook them up w/ the 4x6's in the dash??? I'm REALLLLLLY wanting to run all MB Quart Speakers, I'm either going to run one of their 12" subs or go ahead and buy a new pair of 12" Arc Audios (sold my old ones), and just run like an MTX or Arc Audio amp. I'm still a beginner when it comes to sound systems, but I know how to build a sweet ass system and hook er all up, I just need help finding these or if I can do whhat I stated above

Any help GREATLY appreciated!!!

I run MB Quart in the front doors of my 02....They are saweeeet. Not many car speakers I've ever heard compare to them.

As for 6x9 or 4x6 components, I'm not sure anybody makes them.

MB Quart does make a 6x9 though. (DTE 169 is the part number, I believe.)

New Blazer? Old Blazer? K1500, Or the S-series?

If it's the full size, older body style than mine....You can put 6x9s in the doors.....With a little finesse

FYI, in my 92, I have Boston Acoustics 4x6s in the dash, and I feel no need for components, the highs bounce right off the windshield. If I were to put components in there, I would just go with the Q-Forms custom kick panel enclosures.

Of course, in the place of 2 way 4x6s, you could always go with plates...ONLY if you have an amp running them. You can blow a speaker by underpowering it just as fast as you can with too much power. I have Infinity plates in the rear doors of the 02, and they sound pretty d@mn good in their own right.

Oh yeah...Going with tweets that you bought seperately from your mids....You're going to have to buy a crossover, or at least some small, in-line capacitors (bass blockers) in order to keep from blowing them as soon as you hook them up. Components come with everything you need.

Yea, S series Blazer. 4x6 fdront, 6x9 rear. It's a two door so yeah. But I dnoo, I gotta see how much I'll be making w/ a summer job and what not.

If the 4x6s are on top of the dash, you really don't need components, they will sound fine.

I'm with Wing. It's not always necessary to add components. In theory they sound better, and in many applications they do. But properly position coax's can sound great, too.

They do make a 4x6 plate that will allow you to mount a 4" round woofer. So you would want to look for a 4" component set. JL Audio, MB Quart, or Boston Acoustics are all very good sounding speakers. I have been a HUGE Boston Acoustic fan for many years, for car audio anyway. I plan to put a 6.5 Boston component set along with a JL Audio Stealth box with dual 8"'s in my truck...one of these days. I now have an Alpine 9835 headunit with the rest factory.
