Audi A4 and Jetta GLS

my gf is about to buy a car..its b/w one of these two...i know both are very nice cars. they are used, prolly in the 99-01 yr's.... is there any known problems on either. how $$$ are repairs and what nots. things to look for? any tips? any opinions?? Let me know!

 

also, the audi im looking at in specific has a 2.8L V6, full loaded with 90K miles... askin 12,900, obo...

the Audi is the Driver's Car of the two. I'd go with the Audi. Although the Jetta would probably be better suited for a female's car.....

The Jetta and Passat/A4 of recent times has not exactly been the most reliable cars. And yes, the A4 is the same thing as a Passat.

But the interior of the Audi is soooooo much better than the VDub.

 

I haven't had much trouble with my '03 A4, but I have friends with 99-'01s that have had some issues that were big money to fix. I personally wouldn't buy one that wasn't under warranty just because they're hard for me to work on and parts are $$. (I work for one of the Big 3 and prefer to do all my own work. See sig for my project car.) I leased this A4 and will probably lease another (maybe S4) when this one is done unless something happens in the next year and a half.
