Passenger door squeaks...

Last week I started noticing the driver's door sqeaking upon opening and closing (Silverado 2000, Z71). Tried silicone spray, lithium grease, works for a little then it starts again. any ideas? Seems to be coming from the link that goes into the door through a round rubber slot:confused:

I always used a light coat of motor oil and made sure to work it into the springs, bearings, whatever you want to call them really good and no mo problems for a while. Might as well use Mobil 1 while you're at it

I had the dreaded squeek in the passenger side door of my 03. I bought some Prestone Silicone Lubricant ($3) at wally world and sprayed the door latches and the little black jam that is in the middle of the (driver and passenger) door. Squeek is gone!

I forget where I read about the little black jam, but one of the GoodWrench guys that respond on these sites said that is what they do on warranty work. I worked great. Took all of 30 seconds to treat litterally and now it is nice and quiet.

hope this helps...

I had the passenger door squeak that started last weekend. I picked up some spray lube from DuPont. It said it was specifically made for auto doors and auto use. Worked pretty well. I sprayed some on right in the Lowes parking lot and the noise was gone.
