what is normal oil pressure

Hey, Just curious what a "normal" oil pressure is supposed to be on the 4.8L trucks. Mine seems to be running at just under 40psi when warm and at idle and when I punch it, it will go up over 60psi. I hope this is normal, it just seemed kinda high to me. Thanks!!

That's normal. That's what both of ours are running.

I have a 2001 gmc with a 4.8---when it was new i was getting 80 lbs. according to the gage. now it has 19,000 miles and i'm getting 60 lbs. (this is under all conditions)

I would not worry and gages are not alway accurate either.

I see close to 80 on the guage, (for what that's worth), at higher RPM,s, especially if I get on it cold, which I try not to do too often.
