Question about hypertech

I was just wondering if having a hypertech tuner voids warranty.

The only way ANY aftermarket product can void a warranty is if that product can be proven to have caused the failure of a part...Hypertech cannot cause your tires to blow out but might be the reason the engine blew.

It depends on your individual dealer and how they are with aftermarket parts...some don't mind and would even fix an affected part under warranty while others give you a hard time even though the aftermarket part did not cause the failure.

Standard rule of thimb is to restore stock tuning before bringing to dealer. THey should never know. Plus if they happen to update the programming on your truck, your Hypertech will no longer work since you still have the stock tuning in the hypertech.

 

Bottom line, once you remove the hypertech programming, the dealer has no knowledge of it.
