Radio/CD changer

I have had this problem off and on for two years now...

More off than on, but it happened again today...

When I powered up the truck today, I almost simultaniously pushed the channel button from CD back to radio...

No sound, power is on and when I push the CD on button I hear the CD engage but no sound from the speakers, not even noise...

any clue why this is happening? I drove all the way to work in dead silence (other than the flowmaster exahust hummmmmm) :D

I am hoping it comes on after work today, it usually does after sitting for a few minutes but I didnt have time to mess with it this morning.

thanks for any input....

Exact same thing happened to me the day I bought my truck. I just turned the ignition off, took out the key, opened the door to power everything down and it came back on when I started it back up. Hasn't happened since but if it does it's going back to the dealership.

That just happened to me for the first time yesterday as well! I've go 45,000 miles on mine and this is the first time. I tried stopping and restarting the truck and it didn't help at all. The wife took it this moring to work and everything was working then. Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong?

Do you other guys have the Bose system? I've got the 6 disc indash.

I have the Bose also...

I didnt think about removing the key... and then starting it again. I just shut down and restarted the truck this morning with no luck. I wonder if the key has to be removed because of the security feature of the radio.

I do remember (now), the last time it happened and came back on, i was at the post office and got down, when I got back in and started it, everything was ok.

Im going to have to test that theory.... :D
