How to keep tires black

Not sure if this should go here or in appearance section, but I'm tired of cleaning my rims and tires and then a couple days later the tires aren't as clean looking. They dry out, guess the stuff I use isn't any good. Anyone have any tips on how to keep the tires looking good? I've heard you can use AJAX, but do you use the powder type or liquid? Just looking for ideas? Thanks, Chris

I use Meguiar's Endurance High Gloss. It has a great shine without slinging off. And it lasts a long time.

Does the Meguiar's stuff remain sticky after applying?

I'm using some Eagle 1 tire stuff now that shines good and lasts for awhile, but it remains kind of sticky or greasy and dust will stick to it.

I use ultra purple to get rid of any "brown tire" I may have first (careful on unfinished wheels) and then use Stoners " More Shine Less Time"

the stuff is a clear liquid and lasts a while too

I like the Westleys Foaming Tire Cleaner. It is shiney for about a day, and then the tires just stay "BLACK" for a long time.

I'm using some Eagle 1 tire stuff now that shines good and lasts for awhile, but it remains kind of sticky or greasy and dust will stick to it.

I usually spend a lot of time wiping the excess off so it isn't too bad. I don't have any issues with dust/dirt building up on them. What I like the best is that it lasts a LOOOONG time. I use it primarily on my Corvette and typically only have to touch up the tires every once in a while.

Another vote for the Meguires Endurance. I like the way it works well even with some water left on the tire. Don't need gobs of it to look great - and I think that with some careful wiping to even it out, you will find that it is not sticky. Stays on for much longer than foams without attracting a lot of dirt. Interesting smell - like grape soda?

I use the Meguiars cleaning agent first, its a silicon base. You spray the entire wheel and rim. Then a high shine gloss.

This actualy removes the dust and brake dust from the rim, when you wipe it off it leaves the silicone so that brake dust doesnt accumulate as quickly, when it does it wipes off very easily. Keeps tires very clean all by itself add some Eagle 1 shine and it stays for 1 week

I found the best way is to first use "SUPER CLEAN" made by castrol. Spray it on and use a scrub brush, You will not believe the dirt you see coming out of the tires. DOnt get it on paint or aluminum.

Then apply the tire dressing. I use a proffesional dressing that I get from a detail shop but the "black magic" soldd @ pep boys works great..
