I wanna put a tranny temp guage on my 1/2 ton Rado

Hi folks-

 

I wanna put a tranny temp guage in the blank spot below the Tach on my '00 Silverado (5.3L/4x4/std cab/towing package). I recently bought a 3000lb or so trailer that i'll be towing occasionally. While the truck is rated to tow nearly 3 times this amount, I just think it would be a good idea to keep an eye on tranny temp while towing. Since the spot is used on 2500 and up trucks of the same year, why not use it for a 1/2 ton?

 

Anyone here tried this? What do I need to be aware of (if anything)?

Yeah, just buy a cluster off of a HD truck...Or, I think the Denali and Escalade clusters have the temp gauge (somebody correct me if I'm wrong please).

 

TONS easier than adding an aftermarket tranny gauge.
