Where to drill a hole?

Hi all. I was wanting to run several wires and coaxial cabling through the

firewall on my 4-door 2000 Chev blazer. I did manage to route a few

wires that were needed through an existing porthole with a plug on it (on the

passenger side). It worked out alright, but I was limited to how many wires I

can stuff into the plug. Unfortunately, the wires running through the firewall on

that side pass through an area where there is a lot of heat. At one point, the

flexihose that I put around the wires I ran completely fused to the surface of the

wires I ran (the wires themselves were ok)!

I understand there is a better way to run wires. I remember someone saying they

ran some through the firewall on the drivers side. There is apparently a big void

where there is nothing there somewhere near the master cylinder and brake

lines? Is there anyone that could show where exactly it is I have to drill (from

inside the truck) by using a picture or two?

TIA

There is a pretty big space to drill a hole...Problem is, getting to it with a drill.

I couldn't even get my camera in there to take a decent pic.

But yeah, it's right by/under the master cylinder.

No need to drill at all. Just find the gromets near where the computer is under the hood. There is probally 3 unused holes there, just pop out the rubber gromets and you have a nice clean factory hole

If the computer is on the passenger side, then I have already used an existing

port there. The other hole has a white plug which is bolted in and seems next to

impossible to remove (without a proper tool). The other problem with running

things through the passenger side is, as I mentioned, heat. I also don't like the

fact that the cabling is lying just under the carpet where a passengers feet would

go. I have about 10-12 more power wires to run, some big thick gauge wires for

my 700W power inverter, and perhaps some more coax (none planned in the

immediate future though), so I want things out of the way where they won't get

trampled.

If anyone can post a pic of where this big area is, I'd be most appreciative!

TIA
