2003 Silverado driver's door mirror quit

Quit working Sunday. The defrost function and the adjustment function are dead. One guy told me to check connections. I couldn't find any that were disconnected.

Anyone else had this problem? Please let me know how you fixed it if so.

Don't bother... go to the dealer and have warranty fix it.

Well, I understand that. I don't think you'll find too many fans of dealer repairs on this site. But a warranty failure is something I wouldn't personally absorb.

There is a triangular plastic piece by the forward part of the door window's glass bottom (when the window glass is all the way up). It pulls off---unclips. Behind this is the plug that the mirror hooks up to. It is highly doubtful this thing is partially plugged in. Very snug plug.

You might check this.

The little four-way rocker switch that controls the mirror might have gone out. Not much you can do to check this. Rain or beverage may have dropped into it. But, warranty will cover this.

The connectors and plugs for these things are pretty solidly built. Nothing really to check out unless you really want to absorb the cost and start replacing stuff.

My passenger door and mirror functions stopped working the other day, I took it to the dealer and the door control module was bad. It's just as easy for the dealer to fix then to search for an afternoon trying to find the source.
