Towing mirrors?

Has anyone found any good towing mirrors that don't look like elephant ears on our trucks? I'm looking for something that has heat, power adjust, extends and looks good. Yeah, I know... I wouldn't mind if they made me breakfast too... :puke:

Isnt that pretty much the same thing that comes on the 2003 and up chevy's when you order it with the camper style mirrors? I have a brand new set sitting in the garage collecting dust. Power extending, heated, power adjusting, with the L.E.D. turn signal built in. I had a few people say they were interested in them but never got back to me. I will trade them to you TOM for a new VARARAM set up....... :puke:

These are not mine.....but here is what they look like.

Linda: I'll let you know about this in the next few days. They look pretty good (maybe a little awkward when their extended :puke: ). I was thinking about something that looks like the (cough) Ford mirrors.

I'm not sure how something like this will look on our trucks but the mirrors provide plenty of viewing.

Using these towing mirrors on 2002 (which i think you have TOM) you will need to make a small pin out on the mirror harness to make the power extending option work correctly. The 2003+ trucks have the switch ready there. These are a pretty decent design, its just i dont do any towing at all so i yanked em' off and stuck em on the shelf with some other stuff. Then i bought a set of the Power folding OEM mirrors that come stock on the LT trucks and have been using them since. I was just joking with ya about the trade Tom, I didnt think you would want to...........but if you are interested let me know. They are just collecting dust. By the way, your inbox is full.

Thanks for the info Linda! Do they have the step lights underneith? I'm thinking about these if I don't come up with anything else. I try not to use my the PM function on any of the boards (35+ boards and to many PMs - e-mail is easier to keep track of) but some don't allow me to turn it off.

no, no step light that i remember.......the non-towing mirrors have it, but the camper mirrors do not. I can double check when i get off of work, i will edit this post if they do.

I kinda like the way the Ford extended mirrors look too. I wish there was something like that for my Sierra, but TTT only does them like that for the Fords.

Thanks for the links!!! :D

Those are what I'm looking for but they stick out pretty far. This would be exactly what I'd be looking for (someone edited the pic :banghead: ) -

They have an aggressive look that matches the truck but you don't have to worry about hitting anything.

Roofer, thanks for the links those are the style I like too. I wish it was black instead of chrome but I guess that can be fixed with a can or Krylon :D. Do you have these on your truck? If so how do you like them?

Bigdogs, look at the link for the mirrors. The mirrors are black. That chrome part is just a cover. I don't have these on my truck. I also think they stick out too far. I'm not sure about "looking" like a Ford is good either. :D:banghead:

I bet they give good vision though.

Those mirrors would give me the vision I want without being extended. I wonder if there is a way to modify the arms to tuck them in like in the picture above.

I got pulled over for doing 70 in a 55 zone a few years ago. I was doing this in the left lane (no trucks with trailers allowed there) so they also made me stand out. I heard a siren and then saw a reflection of blue lights off of the barrier. I moved over a lane and then he moved over a lane. I moved again and he moved again. My buddy then said "I think he wants you". I pull over and we do the license/registration thing. Then he asked "Why didn't you pull over when you saw my lights". I tell him that I didn't see him before the trailer was in the way. At that point he gave me the speech about needing mirrors that can extend so I can see behind the trailer.
