Rattle in the rear

I have a rattle that is driving me nuts. It happens over any type of bump and can be mild or violent in making its presence known. I feel the vibrations under and in the cab and they are seemingly coming from behind the driver's side somewhere. When I am nearly at a stop and hit the breaks abruptly, there is a combo of squeaks and rattles which seem to come from the same general area. I checked my nerf bars and they are very snug. I have done a search and am thinking that my leaf springs may be the culprit but I am not sure. I am gone under the truck a couple of times trying to reproduce the sound but obviously, I can't simulate driving and going over bumps. Anyone have any thoughts?

I read on hear some where about a washer of some sort on the torsion bars can come out and sound like rattling cans. But I don't remember much more. If any body else does please explain.

I would also check your body mounts, the bolts that run through the frame into the cab and the bed. I know if you put the nerfs on you had to remove some of them and replace them with ones that came with the nerfs. double check and re-torque all of them to make sure others may not be loose.

The way you describe it makes me think it has something to do with your slip yoke - search this board and hopefully you can find some useful information.
