Installed trans temp gauge, doesn't work

Well, finally got around to installing the trans temp gauge kit from USSpeedo on my 1999 NBS truck, and it doesn't work  Drove the truck around for over an hour on the interstate and in stop and go traffic. The needle never moved off of 100. There were no instructions on how to orientate the gauge in the cluster, but I tried it both ways and it didn't work. Has anybody else installed the kit and had a problem. I'm going to give USSpeedo a call on Monday and see what they say. Guess I should have gone with the whole new cluster, but my local speedometer shop wanted $200 just to transfer the mileage which was crazy. Any suggestions would be helpful

Had same problem with my 99NBS . Thought I may have got the chip too hot when soldering it in place. Called USSpeedo and they sent me another chip. This time I had it soldered in by computer tech.Still no reading on trans gauge.Called USSpeedo again said I would have to send in my cluster to be bench tested. I did and it works like it should. They will calibrate the temp gauge while they have it.

Good Luck

Well, talked to USSpeedo and they said that sometimes the gauge kit doesn't work with all trucks. They are sending me a new IC chip and transistor to install. If that doesn't work, they are going to send me a whole new circuit board from a cluster that has the temp gauge, and transfer the mileage and hours. Hard to complain about their service, they are great to deal with, but I wish they noted that the gauge kit might not work in all clusters. I would have probably bought a Denali cluster instead, if I had known that.
