04 Sierra Electrical Audio Problem

Hi There

I have a 04 Sierra x-cab Z71 with 700 miles on it!

It has the Bose/Onstar Safe and Sound package. built in 9-03

Since the Day I picked up the truck there has been this noise in the audio system speakers that comes and goes on it's own.

It sounds like serial talk [computer talk] or kind of like the old alternator wine in the old days.

It's been back to the dealer three times, no help there.

When it does the noise it is most notisable at low volume and will become more pronouced when the headlamps are turned on.

I pulled out to the garage one day and waited for the Wife to get in and the noise started. When it was time to move on I beeped the horn [to get the cats to move] and poof the noise stopped! Soo later on down the road the noise was back, so I tried the "beep the horn thing" and poof the noise was gone for a while. I have done the over and over to get the noise to go away with 80+ - percent the noise leaving. Sometimes for only a minute or two!

I have tried other things but nothing else to report!

I can't believe that I have the only truck with this problem, and I have looked for hours on the web and found nothing.

Thought this Forum might have some insite to my problem or know whom I may check with to find the answers!!

Please respond with any ideas> Many Many Thanks Rob

Gotta be a bad ground somewhere in the system. However, I completely agree with tmf6902 and NOS#9BIGMAC - you're completely within your factory warranty, it's the dealer's problem to sort this out. If they can't help or say the usual words "It's normal" (although in this case even they'd have to admit that's BS), then you call GM and start talking to a customer rep. I have the Bose audio system w/o Onstar, and knowing what that option costs, I refuse to touch anything with the radio system (they already replaced my radio, different problem though).
