That is about 45 min. from me. If the Dealer finds out and sees that they left the leader advertising plate on the truck, I think the truck owner will have problems!

Trouble?

Why?

They sure want their advertised crap all of your truck for the good times. They deserve it for the bad times too.

No where in the ad does he call out the dealer directly, in fact he did not put the tag on the truck, the dealer did.

He has no worries. Besides of course he bought a POS FORD

He has the right to his opinion after all the dealer didn't build the truck ford motors did so if any one has a problem it should be ford :flag: I wonder if they would have a problem with the pi$$ on ford sticker on the back of my truck. It seems like he is specificly talking about that truck and not generally slandering the whole ford line so there should not be any legal problems with him voicing his opinion. I've been trashing fords name for years  I gotta say that cracked me up though :banghead:

Because while he is bashing Ford, he is also bashing the dealer who sold him that truck by having the dealers plate in the photo. Everyone has a right to their opinion and obviously this guy is unhappy with this truck. He is dragging Rasor Ford in with his bad opinion of that truck. It is obvious that he has no real plan of selling that truck on e-bay, he is just looking for attention. Bad press and even if the truck is a lemon, Rasor Ford has nothing to do with it. They just sell trucks, they don't build trucks. Chevy, Dodge and every other brand out there has a certain number of vehicles each year that are total lemons. This guy just got a Ford and is partially blaming it on the dealership. Am I accusing Rasor Ford? No, they just sold him a truck, a truck that FORD built and in the end, HE bought. He can either exercise the lemon laws in place or live with it.

Sorry for sounding like a hard ass, but it is my opinion. He is wanting someone else to take responsiblity for his actions. Plain and simple. Exercise the laws if he applies. As for it being a "gas guzzler", he knew he was not buying a beetle, so "truck type" milage is to be expected.

just throwing my .02 into the wind. if this guy bought the truck from the ford dealer, they put their propaganda crap all over it for advertising. if this guy has gone to the dealer for help and they refuse to help (warranty, it's good for business, factory rep pull, etc.) he has every right to let people know where he bought it from too. years ago a neighbor had bought a lumina from a local dealership and it turned out to be a lemon (i think it was just before the lemon laws.) the dealer washed their hands of it and she took action. she made lemon shaped signs and 'advertised' it in her yrd, at the grocery store, in the paper and on TV. after a while the dealership took its responsibility and helped get her car taken care of. just because i buy a defective toaster from wal-mart doesn't wash wal-mart's hands of it's obligation to me as the customer.

 Its called CUSTOMER SERVICE ....Its the Dealers responsibility to service the Vehicles they sell...That goes for all makes....Its the owners right to call the dealer on their service if they can't or won't honor any REASONABLE repair request....

I think the gas guzzeler part is a little excessive. It's a truck they drink fuel like a bum drinks wine :P as for lemon laws, I'm from New Hampshire and we don't have lemon laws. If I bought a lemon I would get stuck with it. Only when bought under warrenty does the consumer get any rights and even then your at the mercy of the stealership :sigh: Most vehicles here are sold "as is,as seen, as shown, no warrenty implied or given" I sold this guy my 89 chevy s-10 blazer 2.8

for like 1800 bucks (I only paid 600 for it  ) but I also replaced both rear quarters and painted it. any way he drove it for a month and blew the tranny out of it. would you believe he actually came back and wanted his money back  After explaining what as is,as seen, as shown, no warrenty implied or given means, I politely kicked him off my land

Unless the comments written on the vehicle are provably false, the owner has no liability concerns with respect to the dealer whatsoever. We had a similar case in Vancouver, BC, where a guy put signs on his truck (similar to this) and parked it in front of the dealership. Did it many times. Dealer couldn't even make him move as long as the parking regulations on the street were being observed.

Dealers have a legal, shared liability for the products they sell with the manufacturer, so associating the problems of this vehicle and the dealer are absolutely fair comment.

    • This is a really late reply but I just found this thread. They won't sell the hinges. I've gone 7 rounds with them. Their solution is to buy a new cover. I'm about to buy a new cover and it won't be a Bakflip. It also won't be from realtruck.com.
    • Yes, and also pulling heavy trailers or a large camper up steep grades as well as descending grades such as the more rustic off road camping locations and using engine braking with that low gearing as well as soft ground can just suck the power . I realize pickups these days tend to have an over all lower first gear ratio compared to automatic transmission pickups from years back so that has helped a lot in its ability in high range but there comes a point if in four wheel drive the torque runs out at the wheels, certainly with a gas engine. They don't put two speed transfer cases on pickups for a cool factor, they have a function if one needs that massive torque to the wheels that high range can't deliver.
    • Notes 7/18/2026   3,400 miles on this batch of Mobil 1 Euro 5W40 since the GDI pump replacement. Alcohol runs very clean when ring seal is tight and the sump isn't getting hosed with fuel. Checked oil level at fill up today as is my practice and grabbed a white Kleenex to look at the color. What color?  I was going to change it but.....
    • 4 low is really nice on steep boat ramps.
    • Interesting, I suspect I would have fueled up in Lee Vining as the day prior I would have filled up either in Laughlin or near there and maybe again before I entered Death Valley and once out the other side late that evening as I kept on driving into the night up near Lee Vining. Next morning I most likely fueled up in LV before heading over Tioga Pass into ( as I refer to it as "Yose .... Mite" 😁 ). And again that was 19 years ago but the price then must not have jumped out at me like the 5 bill a gallon theme of nutty cult hippy country Big Sir or head so far up their rear Aspen. I'd be curious to know where the highest prices are in the lower 48, I probably would not be far off to guess somewhere in Cali forn ie. Coldfoot and Prudhoe bay may have those prices beat but that is a whole other world up there and when prices are more normal elsewhere that is about what they can be up there I believe in no mans land. Anyway interesting that the 395 corridor is hosing people and the thing is, its tourist season and its not like there are a lot of competition options when driving up that highway from what I could see. Yup, big ole Boaterhomes and various other RV's ahead and behind me at the Yosemite entrance gate and they have to get their fuel somewhere.
